Stk. 1214 1983 GMC Truck (Replica 1920 Double Decker Bus) One of only six constructed, this bus was designed by Walt Disney engineers and built at the Disney Studio Machine Shop in Burbank, CA for the opening of Disneyland in 1956. It was modeled after the famed 1920 double decker buses that carried sightseers in New York City. In the 80s, this bus and three others were shipped to Orlando, FL for duty at Disney World and Epcot Center. The bus that we are offering has been through a masterful restoration which took 14 months to complete. Back to its original condition of 1956 was the plan, but it is actually better and grander than new. The exterior red paint job with gold striping and burgundy trim leaves no doubt about the painters ability. Interior with a rich burgundy vinyl and red piping appears as if no one has ever been seated there. The entire vehicle is loaded with solid oak seating and trim along with solid brass railing that is in as new condition. In keeping with Disney genius, this mammoth people mover is fueled by propane, making it more efficient and friendly to the environment.
